Its funny, as I get closer to Sam's birthday, things are getting a little easier.  Who knows, maybe my roller coaster will follow the path in I took in the hospital last year.  My 2nd and third full days in the hospital were probably my best.  My back and hips only ached a little, my contractions had stopped, and I could see the magical 24-week mark looming in the distance.  I guess my determination began to morph into hope.  One year ago today (and yesterday), I knew- just knew- I would be able to hold on and keep my baby in long enough to give it a fighting chance.  I think that these days last year were among my easiest and best.

I wonder what tomorrow will feel like- it is the anniversary of the 24-week mark after all.
